A woman was stabbed multiple times in a shopping mall parking lot in Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN) on Tuesday 10 December 2019. 

KZN police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed the incident saying that a case of murder is being investigated by Montclair South African Police Service (SAPS). 

Details of brutal murder 

Gwala said the incident took place around 12:30 on Tuesday in the parking lot of a shopping mall. 

“A 33-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by a known suspect while at Wood Road in Montclair,” said Gwala. 

Montclair is a southern suburb of Durban and it lies west of Clairwood and north of Woodlands. 

“The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the body. A 40-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene,” added Gwala. 

The suspect will appear in the Wentworth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 12 December 2019. 

Rescue care tweeted on Tuesday: “Woman in critical condition after been stabbed multiple times on Wood Rd, Montclair.” 

KZN woman’s arms chopped off in separate incident 

Just 11 days into the campaign, 16 Days Of Activism, a 35-year-old Durban woman’s arms were chopped off and her skull smashed in, allegedly by her husband. 

According to the Daily News, the incident occurred in uMkhuze in northern Kwa-Zulu Natal on Tuesday, 3 December 2019 in front of the couple’s two-year-old child. 

It was reported that the husband killed himself after the attack.
