It just had to happen, didn’t it? When Trump-inspired domestic terrorists stormed Capitol Hill last week, the world looked on in horror as the insurrection attempt unfolded at a rapid speed. Six people died as a result of the violence, which was eventually condemned by the outgoing president. What is more, these rioters had a South African amongst them.

Yes, there was an SA national at the Capitol last week…

The man, who identified himself as a South African citizen and spoke with a hybrid SA/US accent, was featured on the pro-Trump network, One America News (OAN). He pretty much invites himself on air for an interview – and it all gets a bit messy from there, as his rant descends into foul-mouthed insults directed towards serving senators.

He speaks about how the lamb will become ‘the Lion of Judah’, and tells those in the Capitol – Washington DC – that he’s had enough of ‘being told what to do’. It’s a 10/10 on the tantrum scale, and the emotions get the better of this attendee.

Watch: South African man at Capitol Riots rants, raves, and misbehaves

“I have a message from South Africa. All eyes are on Congress today. I want you to zoom in on my face. I have a message for all you Senators at the Capitol. We are watching, and we have had enough. The lamb will become the Lion of Judah! We have had enough, and I do not take instructions too well. All of you bunch of arseholes, we are watching you today.”

When will Joe Biden be inaugurated

After inciting the riots last week, Donald Trump has since committed to a peaceful transition of power. However, it all seems that this is too little, too late. On Wednesday, he became the first president to be impeached twice – and Democratic lawmakers are seeking to secure a conviction in the Senate.

Joe Biden will be inaugurated on Wednesday 20 January, as security in the Capitol reaches unprecedented heights. The National Guard has deployed thousands of soldiers to the site of last week’s insurrection, and the operation to prevent further acts of terror on US soil is forensic and precise.
