1974 | Nigerian Colonel Seyni Kountché led a military coup that overthrew Hamani Diori and he appointed himself as the new president.

1986 | U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps attacked Libya using airstrikes. The attack’s code-name was Operation El Dorado Canyon.
