The latest COVID-19 figures released by acting Health Minister Mmamaloko Kubayi-Ngubane on Monday evening report that cases have increased by 12 537 in the last 24-hours, meaning that the total number of infections that have been accumulatively reported since March 2020 has risen to 2 219 316

Sadly, over the last 24-hours alone, a further 633 people have died from COVID-19, meaning that a total of 65 142 people have succumbed to the virus since the first death in March 2020. 

A total of 1 961 448 have recovered having tested positive for COVID-19.

Provincial COVID-19 case breakdown Tuesday 13 July

The following confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded in each province as of Tuesday 13 July:

  • Eastern Cape – 214 871 cases;
  • Free State – 120 786 cases;
  • Gauteng –  784 148 cases
  • KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) – 372 406 cases
  • Limpopo – 94 360 cases
  • Mpumalanga – 108 114 cases;
  • North West – 111 493 cases
  • Northern Cape – 62 042 cases
  • Western Cape – 351 096 cases, and
  • Unallocated –  0 cases, 0 deaths.
