A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday 8 June in an accident on the R55 near the N14 highway in Thatchfield in Centurion, CERT-SA said in a statement.

“Tuesday morning CERT responded to a pedestrian-vehicle accident. A light motor vehicle collided with a pedestrian, as they were trying to cross the road. The pedestrian was fatally injured in the collision,” it said.

CERT-SA said the victim was sadly declared dead on the scene. 


The police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident in Centurion. 

“The driver and the young passenger of the vehicle escaped the incident with only minor injuries caused by shards of glass from the windscreen.” 

Tshwane Emergency Services Department, Tshwane Metro Police Department, and police were on the scene.
